Lupe Fiasco’s Dreads are gonna be longer than mine by next week.

I was watching the grammy noms performance and his hair is like another inch longer than the last time I saw him on TV(BET Hip Hop Awards?). Meanwhile it took mine at least 4 months to get to that point!

I don’t even know what’s going on here. They were allowed to get all Jodeci on the audience and just start riffin and body rollin like that? On Disney channel!? And WOW. Ryan Gosling tried his best. Bless his little  John B. heart. Justin was an explosion of baby formula and sex drive all at the same time. And im pretty sure the “JC” in JC Chasez stands for Jamal Carter after seeing this.

I owe the beautiful sweet smell on my dreads to this product, but I still need help with my dandruff problem. WHAT DO?

Sankofa can mean either the word in the Akan language of Ghana that translates in English to “go back and take” (Sanko - go back, fa- take) or the Asante Adinkra symbols of a a bird with its head turned backwards taking an egg off its back, or of a stylised heart shape. It is often associated with the proverb, “Se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi,” which translates “It is not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten.”
- Wikipedia

I like this. I can’t remember which song it was, but Talib Kweli mentions Sankofa. This is a really nice concept. There’s nothing at all wrong with taking your regrets and transforming them into lessons for the future. I like the image of a bird taking an egg off it’s back. That makes more sense as the symbol because the egg is the future generation and it is on the bird’s back. The Past, Present and Future are all being represented actually. I like that. It really is important to acknowledge the significance of your past everyday. African proverbs man…
